The Master Algorithm

Analogizers believe that analogies are the foundation of human reasoning.  We make decisions on that is happening now based on the experiences we have had in the past.  They believe that if they can implement this in an agent then that agent will be able to think on its own once it has enough "past experiences" to do so.  In this video Douglas Hofstadter gives a lecture on the use of the analogy in cognition.  He is one of the leading minds in the tribe of the analogizes and the content in the video goes a long way to explain how the analogy is useful in the pursuit of AI.
